It is a syndrome of disordered metabolism, and usually there is a combination of hereditary and environmental causes, which results in blood sugar levels that are highly abnormal.
Carbohydrates that we consume in our diet are the main source of fuel for the body. Converted into glucose, once they enter the bloodstream, they’re delivered to all the body organs. The organs then use them to function properly. Insulin is produced and released by the pancreas, for them to be able to receive and use the glucose hormone. When either insufficient amount of insulin is produced, or it fails to make sugar accessible to the vital body organs, it results in the development of diabetes. Although this is an ancient ailment, there is virtually no cure for it, and often not understood very well by people.
